RAINSTORM™ was designed to offer an intensive week of cycling for riders preferring longer distances. Each day will offer a route of approximately 100 miles. This non-competitive tour is designed for ultra cyclists or triathletes seeking to improve their cycling endurance and their techniques for completing longer rides successfully. Perhaps you need to practice hydration and nutrition strategies. Perhaps you want to work on your pacing, your climbing form, or your mental strategies for staying positive through adversity. Maybe you're comfortable completing back-to-back centuries, but wonder if you could do more. This ride was created with the intention of helping you meet whatever personal goals you bring to it.
RAINSTORM™ travels over hard-surfaced back roads in southern Indiana. There are no layover days on this tour. Lodging will be in state park inns or hotels, and is included in the tour fee. Terrain ranges from rolling to hilly; expect to be challenged.
Four breakfasts and three dinners are included; menus are carefully planned for sound nutrition and variety, and include options for vegetarian and diabetic participants. At the state parks, buffets are served in the inn dining rooms. They offer lots of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as multiple entrees and sides. Dinners in Bloomington and Terre Haute (carbo loading the night before RAIN™) are on your own.
